WELCOME!
Dear friends:
One of the most joyful and fulfilling ways of living our human life is by offering our lives to God as a priest. A priest is a special servant of the Lord for God's people, and as the priest serves, he finds new joy and richness for his own life. Today, we need many more men to consider the special vocation to priesthood so that we will have good and loving servants of the Lord to care for the spiritual and pastoral needs of our Catholic people. During this Year for Priests, I invite many more men to discern carefully if God is calling you to be a priest.
The call to priesthood comes from the Lord, but it is discerned and discovered through prayer, and through sharing and consultation with priests and other good leaders. If you believe that the Lord is calling you, each day pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you. Christ needs many more good priests, and so do the people we serve. Please consider with humility and confidence the call to become a special follower of the Lord as a priest.
Your servant in Christ and Mary,
Most Reverend Michael D. Pfeifer, OMI
Bishop of San Angelo
