WELCOME!
Dear sisters and brothers, in Christ,
We are in the season of Thanksgiving, a time to build up our attitude of gratitude as we thank our loving God for the many wonderful blessings that we have received, and so many of them we take much for granted. Each one, I am sure, can count many blessings, both spiritual and material, that we have received in the past year -- even in spite of our difficulties.
The most wonderful gift Jesus has left His Church is the Eucharist, which word means "thanks." Closely associated with this wonderful and unbelievable gift, is the gift of priesthood. During this season of Thanksgiving, let us thank God for the many good dedicated priests who serve us in our diocese, and let us all make a new effort to promote all vocations for our church, especially vocations to priesthood and religious life as it is in these vocations where we need many more generous servants of the Lord. Pray each day for our priests and religious, and think about a particular person you might contact to discuss the possibility of becoming a priest or a sister or a brother.
I thank all of you for the support you give our church and especially for the support you offer our priests. May our kind God pour our many new blessings upon all of you.
Your servant in Jesus and Mary,
Most Reverend Michael D. Pfeifer, OMI
Bishop of San Angelo
